Three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering, or B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (3 years), or a combination of any sub-stream of basic streams of Civil Engineering from a recognised University/Institute.

Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must be a regular employee of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), including Dankuni Locomotive Works (DLW), HWII Stores Office, and Inspection Cells at Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi, and any other unit under the administrative control of CLW. The applicant must be working substantively in a grade below the notified grade to which he/she wishes to apply. For JE (Works), staff must be working up to and including Pay Level-5. RPF/RPSF staff are NOT eligible to apply against GDCE vacancies.

Application Fee: NIL - No application fee is required for any category of candidates. There shall be a single stage CBT (Computer Based Test) / TBT (Tablet Based Test) for all the notified posts. The exam is tentatively scheduled for May or June 2026. Exact dates will be notified in due course.
