Qualification

First Class Masters’ Degree in Science/Mathematics or equivalent.

In-depth subject knowledge; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage and communicate with large groups of audience; ability to effectively handle students; lateral and out of the box thinking; passion for innovation in education; comfort with computer applications and internet. Fluency in English is a must. Knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi, and multiple language skills are desirable. Experience in areas like astronomy, model rocketry, aeronautics, robotics, sky watching, science expeditions, etc. would be an added advantage. Candidates are expected to be highly proactive and energetic, possessing networking and project management skills; managerial and team building abilities, ability to plan, co-ordinate and execute various programmes, activities and events efficiently. Problem solving approach, mature judgment, strong ideals, and the desire to serve as a catalyst for popularizing Science are desirable. Preference will be given to those having education in pure sciences, mathematics and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

The person will be required to work in a team as well as independently handle responsibilities, which include the following: o ConductingScience/Mathematics education and popularization activities o Conducting experiments and hands-on activities in Science and Mathematics Labs o Facilitating students for projects in Science and Mathematics o Handling visits of the schools at VASCSC and guiding the students o Conducting Teachers Training Programmes o Developing innovative Teaching Learning Material (TLM), Publications, Kits, Exhibits o Designing and developing innovative experiments, activities and modules o Conducting outreach activities and awareness programmes o Facilitating mobile science exhibitions/laboratories o Conducting outdoor Science activities, including educational tours, field trips, etc. o Project development, writing proposals, fund raising o Implementing, coordinating projects o Prepare reports, status briefs, presentations and other communications o Represent the organization in various meetings, workshops, networks
