Essential Eligibility Criteria

For Assistant:

• Graduate of a recognized University with five years office experience.
• Desirable: Working speed in typewriting at least 8th pass with a valid driving license for light vehicles and 3 years’ experience in driving and maintenance/repair of similar vehicles.

For Staff Car Driver:

• At least 8th pass with a valid driving license for cars and knowledge of motor mechanism.
• Written test on General knowledge, traffic rules followed by Driving test and personal interaction.

Mode of Selection

• For Assistant:
  • Written test followed by Computer Proficiency Test:
  • Aptitude – 20 MCQ (20 marks)
  • English – 20 MCQ (20 marks)
  • Numeric – 20 MCQ (20 marks)
  • General Knowledge – 60 MCQ (60 marks)
  • Objective type questions on Noting/Drafting
  • Computer Proficiency Test is only to assess the ability to work in a computerized office environment. However, no marks are allotted for that.
• For Staff Car Driver:
  • Driving test and personal interaction.

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (Society) was set up in the year 1982 by the Government of India as an autonomous body for coordinated growth and development of hospitality education in the country.

Initially, the Council was set up as the National Board of Studies in Food Management, Catering & Nutrition under the administrative control of Ministry of Agriculture (Department of Food) and subsequently transferred to the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India in the year 1984. It was rechristened as National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology. Currently, the office of the Council is situated at A-34, Sector-62, Noida (U.P.) India with its own building, while the registered office is at Pusa, New Delhi.
