Qualification
M.Sc. (Agriculture/ Statistics/ Remote Sensing & GIS) or Ph. D. (Agriculture/ Statistics/ Remote Sensing & GIS) ii. Minimum 10 years’ experience (8 years for Ph. D.) in any of the following fields 1. Remote Sensing Applications in Agriculture 2. Agriculture Statistics/Field Survey 3. Crop Modelling/Crop Yield Estimation iii. National/State Level Project management related to natural resources or At least 5 papers in Peer Reviewed Journals.

The Consultant will be required to work at least during normal Office hours of the place of posting for all working days of a month. In case of exigencies and whenever required, the deployed personnel may be required to work beyond office hours and on holidays also without any extra remuneration. In case of absence of the Consultant during working days or whenever required additionally as above beyond working days, there shall be a pro-rata reduction for each day of absence out of their monthly emoluments Absences from work of not more than 18 days in a year may be allowed (subject to prior approval) to take care of ill-health or any other personal constraint.

Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Centre (MNCFC) is an attached office of Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture,Government of India. It was inaugurated on 23rd April, 2012 by Hon’ble Agriculture Minister.
The Centre has been established to provide in-season crop forecasts and assessment of drought situation using state of the art techniques and methodologies developed by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
