Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Udhampur is one of the Kendriya Vidyalaya run by KVS an autonomous body under ministry of human resources development Govt. of India. K. V. No.1 Udhampur is one of the 1087 Kendriya Vidyalayas all over the country, including two abroad – one in Moscow and the other in Kathmandu.
