Experience requirements ( अनुभव ) : Candidates having practical experience of 2 years or more from reputed organization /institute /industry in maintenance and repairs of electrical systems, HT substations, power panels, electricity generators, PLC systems. Wiring and cabling of HT and LT power supply. Knowledge of inventory / stocks of electrical accessories materials

Job responsibilities / description ( उत्तरदायित्व) :The incumbent is required to assist the head of the department and carry out repairs and day to day maintenance of all electrical installations and their accessories at various buildings, laboratories, pilotplants, workshop, guest-houses and staff quarters of the institute, wherever they are located. Repair and maintenance of inhouse electrical substations and associated power distribution panels, switch gears, lifts and DG sets. If necessary, the incumbent should carry out all the maintenance works of the institute and staff-quarters, even at odd hours and on emergency calls.

General instructions ( सामान्य निर्देश ) : 1. Benefits under Council service: a. These posts carry usual allowances i.e. Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) etc., as admissible to the Central Government employees and as made applicable to CSIR. Council employees are eligible for accommodation of their entitled type as per CSIR allotment rules depending on availability. In case accommodation is allotted, HRA will not be admissible. b. In addition to the emoluments, benefits such as reimbursement of Medical Expenses, Leave Travel Concession and House Building Advance, etc., are applicable to CSIR employees from time to time. c. CSIR provides excellent opportunities to deserving candidates for career advancement under the Assessment Promotion Scheme subject to qualifying, as per rules. d. All New Entrants will be governed by the “National Pension System” based on defined Contributions for new entrants, as adopted by CSIR for its employees. However, persons selected from other Government Departments/Autonomous Bodies/Public Sector Undertakings/Central Universities joined before 01-01-2004 and having Pension Scheme on Govt. of India pattern will continue to be governed by the existing Pension Scheme i.e., CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972, as per rules. 2. The CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT) is one of the oldest National Laboratories under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). It started as the Central Laboratories for Scientific & Industrial Research (CLSIR) by the then princely State of Hyderabad in 1944. The Transformation from CLSIR to CSIR-IICT For a laboratory with Global presence, it had a humble beginning when the princely state of Hyderabad was planning to create a research Centre. A first step in the direction of creating applied research appears to have been taken by Hyderabad State when the Industrial Laboratory was set up by the then Government in 1920s which became the forerunner of CLSIR. Its work involved ‘scientific help and advice, analytical services, and investigations and research on industrial problems. The areas of investigation on laboratory scale in 1940s, for example, included: synthesis of known drugs; organic acids from vegable wastes; denaturants for alcohol used as motor spirit; graphite and mica purification; fire-proof enamels and glass for bangles; and examination of fibers. Similar laboratories were later set up in some British provinces. The formative Years: In 1940, the Imperial India constituted the Board of Scientific & Industrial Research (BSIR) to facilitate industrial research.
