Postgraduate Medical Degree i.e. (M.D./M.S./DNB/M.Ch./D.M) OR equivalent in the concerned specialty (recognized by MCI/NMC and registered either with Medical Council of India or State Medical Council)

Nationality : Candidate must be an Indian National. Postgraduate Medical Degree i.e. (M.D./M.S./DNB/M.Ch./D.M) OR equivalent in the concerned specialty (recognized by MCI/NMC and registered either with Medical Council of India or State Medical Council). Candidates who have completed three years tenure of Senior Residency are not eligible. Age Relaxation • 3 years for OBC • 5 years for SC • 5 years for Govt. Servants (through proper channel) • 10 years for widows/deserted women and women judicially separated (not remarried)

Interested candidates can download the prescribed application form from the official website of GMCH. Duly filled application form along with photocopies of relevant certificates/testimonials, recent passport size photograph and non-refundable application fee must be submitted in the Establishment Branch-II, Block-D, GMCH-32, Chandigarh on the same day before 11:00 A.M. Candidates must also bring all original certificates/testimonials for verification. Walk-in Interview will be held on 20 April 2026 at 2:00 P.M.

Application Fee: ₹500/- (₹250/- for SC candidates). Fee is to be deposited on the spot at GMCH. Candidates applying for multiple posts/departments need to pay only once. Selection Process: Walk-in Interview on 20 April 2026. Applications will be received up to 11:00 A.M. and interview will be held at 2:00 P.M. on the same day. Final selection on the basis of performance in the interview. Tenure: The posts of Senior Residents, CMO (General Medicine & General Surgery), Resident Anaesthetist & Resident Pathologist are tenure posts and the appointments will be made for the period of 06 months or may be extendable as per requirement or till the regular incumbent joins through regular selections, subject to the condition that in case his/her work and conduct does not found satisfactory at any stage, his/her services shall be terminated without assigning any reason. Further Senior Residency, if done, in any Central Institution/Hospital under the Central Residency Scheme, the same shall be counted while working out the tenure of three years (including previous experience), so as the maximum period of Senior Residency does not exceed three years. Important Instructions: Number of vacancies is tentative and can increase or decrease. Selected candidates from walk-in interview must apply afresh when regular advertisement is released. Candidates already in Government service must route application through proper channel and submit NOC within 3 days of interview. Persons whose services were earlier dispensed with on account of misconduct are not eligible. Incomplete applications or applications without required documents will be rejected.
