10-15 years of experience of working as Safety Officer in the manufacturing industry. Working in any chemical manufacturing company will get an advantage.

Responsibilities
• Duties & responsibilities as mentioned in Chapter IV of The Factories Act 1948. • Monitor the storage, handling and disposal hazardous or chemical wastes and related equipments. • Maintain chemical inventories. • Co-ordinate and monitor industrial hygiene activities, such as water, air and material of unknown properties sampling. • Evaluate the use of personal protective equipments by Personnel. • Serve as an emergency co-ordinator regarding hazardous materials spills and accidents. • Investigate employee complains, relative to occupational chemical exposure and indoor air quality. • Provide toxic hazards analysis • Submit corrective recommendations concerning unsafe working conditions. • Record keeping and reporting to both internal and external bodies. • Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) monitoring and evaluating chemical physical properties.

About Durgapur Chemicals Limited (DCL):

Durgapur Chemicals Limited (DCL) was incorporated on 31st July 1963 as a public sector company wholly owned by the Government of West Bengal as part of an initiative to develop Durgapur as an industrial hub of West Bengal. DCL started commercial production of Phenol, phthalic anhydride, Monochloro Benzene, Pentachloro Phenol, Caustic Soda, Chlorine and Hydrochloric Acid in the year 1968.

The company was planned as a forward integration for another GoWB owned company, Durgapur Projects Limited (DPL), set up primarily to supply power, water, coke and coke oven gas to industrial units in the Durgapur area. It was envisaged that the company would utilize the benzene and naphthalene produced as by-products of DPL’s coke oven batteries to feed as raw material to our phenol and phthalic anhydride respectively.
