About Directorate of Technical Education, Chandigarh (DTE, Chandigarh):

The Directorate of Technical Education was set up on the formation of Union Territory, Chandigarh in November, 1966. This Directorate is headed by the Director Technical Education. It does not have its own building and is housed in the PEC University of Technology (near Central Library), Sector 12, Chandigarh. Director Technical Education is functioning as Head of the Department and is the appointing authority for Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ posts of the Directorate and Technical institutions functioning under its control. Director Technical Education has been declared as Nodal Agency for the pensionary benefits and medical bills of the PEC retirees since 2005.
