Applications are invited for the positions of project assistant and Projectassociate-1(PA-1) on
contract basis to work in a time bound DST sponsored research project
(DST/SEED/SCSP/STI/2020/412) sanctioned to the undersigned at the Department of
Epidemiology and Public Health, Central University of Tamil Nadu
Details of the position:
Project Title: Capacity building and promoting good husbandry practices among livestock
farmers for the livelihood, sustainable livestock production and upholding public health
Position: Project Assistant – 1 post
Monthly Fellowship: Rs. 20,000 + 8% HRA
Projectassociate-1
Monthly Fellowship: Rs. 30,000 + 8% HRA
Tenure of Position: 1 year, extendable annually till the completion of the project period,
subject to satisfactory performance. There is a possibility for Ph.D registration subject to
fulfilling eligibility criteria.
Essential Qualification for project assistant: B.Sc in Food technology / Dairy technology /
Meat technology/ Fish Technology/ Bakery technology / Food Microbiology/BVoc in Poultry
and Meat technology/ Public Health and other relevant disciplines with minimum 55%
marks.
Desirable: M.Sc and prior experience in value added livestock products (Milk/ Meat/Poultry)
technology, Fish technology, public health
NET/GATE is desirable
Essential Qualification for project associate: MSc/MTech in Biotechnology,
Bioinformatics, Msc/MTech Food Technology and Dairy Technology, Dairy Sciences, MSc
in Microbiology, Public Health with minimum 55% marks.
Desirable: Prior experience in Real time PCR, PCR and point of care assay development
Age limit: 35 years

Instructions

1. Selected candidates shall be paidan Honorarium of Rs.1500/- per lecture subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000/- per month. 2. The selected candidates shall be engaged on a purely temporary basis for one semester / six months. The services of Guest faculty will be terminated without notice if found unsatisfactory. Under any circumstances, the candidate cannot claim any right for the permanent position. 3. The number of vacancies indicated in this notification is tentative. The University reserves the right to fill any consequential vacancies, and/or to increase/decrease the number of vacancies and make engagements accordingly. 4. Incomplete applications will be rejected. 5. Canvassing in any format or bringing of any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as disqualification on part of the candidate. 6. Candidates are advised to visit the University website for updates. 7. The guest faculty shall not be given the benefit of allowances, pension, gratuity and leave etc. as admissible to the regular teachers.
