Candidates must possess a Second‑Class Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Science or Commerce from a recognised university. The applicant must have studied the concerned subject in all years/semesters of the Bachelor's Degree programme, and the final year/semester marksheet must clearly show the subject name and marks. A B.Ed (General) degree from an NCTE recognised institute is mandatory; only General B.Ed is acceptable for teaching Classes IX–X as per the Education Department instructions. B.Ed (Special Education) is not treated as an alternative professional qualification for APPSC TGT (Secondary) posts. The minimum duration of the B.Ed programme should be two years including mandatory school internship; however, one‑year B.Ed degrees obtained before 2015 are also considered eligible. Candidates who have completed a Four‑Year Integrated Degree Programme with B.Ed (General) are eligible, provided they meet the subject‑specific requirements. Students who are still in the final year/final semester of Bachelor's Degree or B.Ed are not eligible to apply for APPSC TGT 2026.
