Arunachal Pradesh is the largest state in the northeast region of India. With an international boundary of about 1630 kms, it is basically a land criss-crossed by hills, rivers and streams. A land so rich in its fauna and flora, forest products is the most important sector forming its economy. Because of being thinly populated, this hilly tract has a fewer number of central government organisations operating from the state as compared to the other states in India. Though the employment opportunities in Arunachal Pradesh are mainly agriculture oriented, the state has a number of government establishments where the youth can look for a career growth. Besides the central government, state govt. establishments and civic bodies in the state there are also a number of NGO’s, banks and public sector organisations offering job opportunities to the youth of the state.
The Central Government offices in the state include the ones such as media, telecommunication establishments, postal services and research and development organizations. Spread around the major urban areas, most of them are headquartered in Itanagar. Besides the civic bodies, the other central government establishment in the state include the Central Water Commission, NHPC, office of the director Door Darshan Kendra, offices of Oriental Insurance ltd, the Food & Nutrition Board, office of Census Operation, Geological Survey of India, BSNL and Botanical Survey of India are some other central government establishment offering career opportunities. Having an international boundary, has given the youth of Arunachal Pradesh job opportunities in defending the country. There are a number of units of the ITBP, CRPF, BRTF (GREF) & NCC and the army in the state, which offer job opportunities at various levels. Besides these the Arunachal Pradesh Police department also recruits youth at various levels.
