Post graduates in various fields are needed in Government organizations generally at Director, Dy Director and Executive Director levels. Apart from administrative job posts, there are posts for technical officers or quality control officers for candidates who have experience along with post graduate degree. Few industries may want a PhD even for Quality Officers. Pay scale may vary depending upon job title and pay grade offered. Ministry of Defense may appoint Post graduates with proper experience and academic qualifications in Production industry, as Grade-I Senior Scientific Officer, with pay scale of Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,200, while Grade-II officer has a pay scale of Rs 8,000-275-13,500.
When one is being appointed as Quality Control Officer, pay scale offered may vary based on organization where the posts are available. While IOCL may be specific that a PhD holder occupy this post, they offer an attractive pay package with basic as Rs 23,000 to Rs 46,500 along with other allowances like TA, DA, HRA, etc. As an Assistant Director, pay scale may be in range of 15,600 to Rs 39,100 along with grade pay of Rs 5,400. Post graduate in Pharmacy may be appointed as research associates or drug inspectors. An Executive director for overlooking power industry may have an attractive pay scale depending on organization. Pay scale of around Rs 37,400 to 67,000 and a grade pay of Rs 10,000 waits for experienced post graduates in Engineering stream in Power industry. While administrative Director may also earn between Rs 37,400 to Rs 67,000 with a grade pay of Rs 8,900. Allowances like accommodation, military canteen card facility if employed with defense organization, health cards etc are offered as job perks depending on type of appointment. Contractual appointments may not provide TA and DA.
