There are many positions vacant for the post of fire officers in the Government offices. The desired candidate should be capable of evaluating preventive measures for fire fighting at the office premise. He should be able to manage, oversee the maintenance and operational availability of fire fighting equipment and train to lead a team to meet such eventualities. The selection procedure will be strictly followed. First and foremost the candidate should be a Graduate in Engineering / Diploma Engineer along with Diploma in Industrial safety. He should have through knowledge of fire drills, fire fighting, crisis management skill, first aid, fire fighting equipment operation and maintenance. He should be capable of risk analysis. He should have capability to define Fire & Safety Policy to achieve Zero accident free office. He has to maintain all statutory records as per Factories Act. He has to impart training and development to all employees. He should have minimum 10 years of experience in the above said criteria. He should have handled all aspects of safety measures in a large scale company employing minimum of 1000 people. He has all this experience; he will be called for interview. The interview will be the head of the department. Once the candidate has cleared the interview, he will be called for practical test. The test will involve checking the candidate’s ability to handle various safety equipment, first aid and knowledge of drills. The last round will involve a round with HR for discussion of salary and relocation to the premises of the office.
The salary will be based on the expertise of the candidate. The salary range is from 25,000 to 35,000. He will be given a quarters in the respective department. The salary also includes incentives and other perks. For persons of experience of 20 years, the salary will be as high as 40,000. Some allowances are granted to the persons like uniform allowance, servant maids in the quarters, leave travel allowance, etc.
