The position of a constable belongs to the police department of a state or central government. Each and every police station needs constables for their work force. Therefore the position of a constable occurs in vast numbers in state and central government. The position also occurs at Border SECURITY Force and Indo Tibetan Police Force. The eligibility criterion for the post of constable is simple one, wherein the interested candidates should be matriculate and physically fit. They should be able to run a certain distance within a specified time limit. Application should be submitted in a prescribed format to the Inspector General of the specified police station when they call for a vacancy. You should send a demand draft of Rs50 along with your application form at the said address. There is no fee for SC / ST and Ex-servicemen candidates. Short listed candidates would be asked to sit for a written exam and also tested for all round physical fitness. Once selected, they would be sent for constable training before actually assigning a post.
