There are many openings these days in the government sector for artisans. From electricians, plumbers and fitters to carpenters and wiremen, all are required in various government sectors. Enrolling yourself into a government job is not at all troublesome. There are few qualification criteria and if you are eligible, you just go ahead and apply for the required post.
The basic eligibility criterion for all the categories of artisans is a 10th / Matriculation pass. Apart from this they are required to qualify National Trade Certificate (NTC) and National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) exam with not less than 60% in both for general category and OBC category candidates. Score should not be less than 55% for SC/ST candidates. The upper age limit for applying for these posts are 27 years. The application fee comes just around Rs. 125 for GEN and OBC candidates.
Most of the government job applications are submitted online by downloading them from the respective sites after getting a challan receipt upon payment of application fee from the banks mentioned in the site. A copy of the application form is to be maintained by the candidate for future references. And hall tickets will be issued to the candidates calling them for appearing in the written examination.
On the basis of your rank in the written examinations and the number of posts available, you are qualified to the next stage of personal interview. At this stage you are required to furnish your certificates and other credentials if any. Here again it’s your performance that counts i.e. the score you earned from the written examination plus your performance in the personal interview. These together would be the deciding factor at this stage. Upon qualifying this level of the selection process medical examination cards shall be issued to the candidates wherein the doctors of the respective firms certify that you are physically fit for the job. And finally all your certificates are verified as well. Once you are done through all these hurdles, an appointment offer will be made and order shall be issued. The remuneration offered for government artisans in different sectors vary from 5200 to even 20200 from relatively higher posts. Besides there are also promising grade pays and frequent pay revisions and on top of all that the chances of promotions are also wide open.
